October in Burnaby is already alive, with pumpkin trails glowing, neighbourhoods going all out with spooky displays, and the air vibrating with festival energy. But on October 30 (doors open at 7 pm), Burnaby’s Halloween pulse reaches a crescendo. At the venerable Michael J. Fox Theatre, Jokers Canada is bringing pro stand-up comedy into the heart of the Burnaby Halloween Festival, and we can’t wait for you to be part of it.
“We’re so grateful to partner with Explore Burnaby for the third consecutive year. Each Halloween season our goal is to do something bigger and better than the previous year within Burnaby. This year we are going all out with a one night event live The Michael J Fox Theatre on October 30th (Halloween’s Eve!). We’re doubling down on all the bells & whistles to ensure the audience sees the best comedians while in the (spooky & scary!) comfort and environment of a beautiful theatre within their community.”
This year, things are different; instead of spreading shows across multiple venues, this Halloween eve becomes a single, spectacular night of laughs in one place. No tricks, just treats, but plenty of giggles for ghosts, ghouls, and all the fun souls.

Meet the Laugh-Makers (and Hear What They Have to Say)
Ryan Williams
Seen at Just For Laughs and CBC’s The Debaters, Ryan brings conversational sharpness and observational humour that hits home. He’s the kind of comic who gets you nodding — then surprises you with a twist.
Yumi Nagashima
With credits including Comedy Central, Yumi’s comedy dances between introspective and bold. Her voice lands in the small moments, elevating them to hilarious heights.
Damonde Tschritter
He’s no stranger to the big leagues: HBO, Conan, but he’s also not afraid to get real. “When I saw [Michael J. Fox] in Back to the Future as a kid, I thought WOW, a kid from Burnaby can be in movies,” he reflects. “It wasn’t quite movies, but I was a kid from the Island … winding up doing stand-up specials on national TV.” For Damonde, performing in a theatre in Burnaby isn’t just another gig; it’s part of a circle.
Alex Mackenzie (Your Host)
You might recognize Alex from Amazon Prime Video specials. He’s excited to be your guide: “I’m beyond excited to host the Jokers Canada Burnaby Comedy Classic … It’s spooky how good this lineup is.” He’ll welcome you in, keep transitions smooth, and make sure the night feels like one big haunted party.
Why This Night Means Something (Especially for Festival Fans)
This isn’t just another event; it’s a highlight of the Burnaby Halloween Festival, crafted for folks who live for this season. Whether you’ve walked the pumpkin trails, wandered Haunted Village, or soaked in the Festival’s fireworks, this comedy night brings a new kind of magic.
